Prolific American Hybrid Chestnut — Castanea x hybrida

Extremely Productive Seed Selection

Seed Strain selected for productivity with no blight after 30 years. Compact parent tree. Medium sized nuts fill the burrs completely. There are two trees that we use for this cross and both contain more of the Chinese background with a rounded crown and have so far been immune to blight. Seedlings are cross pollinated with other American hybrids. This is a good one for blight immunity and high production.
