Biodegradable Paper Containers to Grow Your Own Trees and Shrubs from Seed

Some of our customers have asked for plant bands so they can get trees and shrubs started from seed that they have collected. Seeds can be sprouted and then directly planted in the pots. Within a few months the paper will begin to break down and you can easily peel off the pot and move it to a permanent location. There is a small layer of plastic surrounding the paper and it is usually best to remove the pot before planting to allow faster rooting into the surrounding soil. If left on the plant will push it aside as it grows. Leaving the pot on works well with tap rooted species where you want to disturb the plant as little as possible. Pots last up to two growing seasons in a greenhouse easily. We have been using this method for over 25 years and it is still one of the best.
